Surprise! Like many artists my creative path has taken many twists and turns. I learned to braid from the amazing Braider Deb, and am currently her only Braider of the Lost Art in Colorado. I travel all over the front range to braid hair for ice skating competitions, birthday parties, weddings, dances, and other events. Scroll down for prices and FAQs.
A Few Frequently Asked Questions:
How long will my braids last?
With proper care, your braids should last at least 2 days, longer if you have especially long or curly hair.
How much do braids cost?
Braids are typically $30-$60 per style, with the most common price point being $35. We will always agree on a price before I start braiding.
Extensions
So much fun! let's add color and volume, so you are ready for the most intense dance party. These do take longer and cost a bit more. Add ins are $35 each or $65 for a set of two. Those are reusable for future fabulous needs. If you'd like me to braid them in for your event the cost of the braid is extra.
If you have a group to get braided, for example a birthday party or dance recital, there is an hourly rate of $75 per hour per braider. Braids generally take about 15 minutes. Simple or partial styles can take as few as 10 minutes, while more complicated braids can take up to 20 or 30 minutes. I can call in reinforcements and bring multiple braiders if you have a tight schedule to adhere to.
How should I take care of my braids?
At night before you go to bed, add more hairspray and wear a pair of pantyhose on your head like a hat to keep your braids from getting fuzzy. If you don't have a pair of pantyhose, a scarf will work too, but pantyhose is the best. Do not wash your braid or immerse it in water (including swimming) as this will cause the braid to loosen quite a bit, and it might not last as long.
Where do you braid hair?
I braid out of my house, also the skating rink where your team is having a competition, the church where you are getting dressed for your wedding, or even the park on a nice afternoon. I am pretty flexible about meeting anywhere within the Denver/Colorado Springs/Fort Collins area. I am willing to travel for large events, so email me if you are interested in something out of town.
